Brass music adds regal elegance to any wedding. The Sounding Brass Quintet frequently plays for weddings. We can work with church organists to complement what they do or we can provide all the ceremony music ourselves. We can also provide music for outdoor weddings where electricity or a piano/organ is not available.
We are very flexible and will work with you to provide the music you want to make your wedding uniquely yours.
Prelude Music : Generally the Sounding Brass Quintet begins prelude music when the guests begin to arrive. This is usually about 20-30 minutes before the ceremony. This music sets the mood for your wedding service but is typically background music. If you have specific selections you would like included we are happy to accommodate you. Our repertoire is very wide. Sometimes specific requests are made while mothers and grandmothers are escorted down the aisle. We usually choose other prelude music although requests are honored.
Processional : Sounding Brass works with you or your wedding planner so that the transition from prelude music to processional music is smooth. If the wedding location has a long aisle or if there will be a number of bridesmaids then it can be effective to provide different music for the bride’s processional. If the aisle is short and/or there are few bridesmaids then it is best for there to be just one processional.
Recessional . The recessional is generally performed a little faster than the processional. After all the wedding is over and you are ready to get on with your life! We will play the recessional until the entire wedding party has left and then switch to Postlude music. We will provide postlude music until the majority of the guests have left the wedding area.
If requested Sounding Brass can play background or cocktail music for your reception. However the Sounding Brass Quintet is not a dance band.
Some of the wedding music we can provide is listed below. This is not a complete list of what we offer, but just something to give you some ideas. Sounding Brass have a very large repertoire so if you don’t see what you want please mention it.
An alternative to the entire quintet would be solo trumpet. In that case an organist or pianist would be required as well. The same selections are available.
Below is a list of the most requested Processionals and Recessionals with recording excerpts. These are not complete recordings. We can vary the length of any to accommodate the size of your wedding party.
